Harmon was the one who convinced Jackie to come back to Starfleet in 2369 after she resigned in 2368 following a skirmish with the Romulans whilst stationed aboard the USS Kenzington; the results of which cost her dearly.

Mark has been trained to use a betleH since his teen years, and continued training throughout his adult life.

Mark was the one who suggested Jackie take command of the USS Horizon. To date he and Jackie maintain a close friendship.
