Overview
The Starfleet rank of Commander (O-5) is the rank held by the executive officers of larger Federation starships, the commanders of smaller starships, and of smaller bases, after the line rank of Lieutenant Commander and before Captain. The marine equivalent rank is Lieutenant Colonel.
Commander, in Bravo Fleet, is awarded only to officers holding the position of Commanding Officer and completing all of the steps to make their ships active, as stipulated by By-law #2.4. Commander is also granted to players who are not commanding officers by a request to the relevant Task Force Commanding Officer.
